Ten Oaks Project

Holly and Julia Wagg, parents themselves, decided to found a new organization in 2004 that would offer LGBT children or children of LGBT parents, a safe, welcoming and educational and supportive summer camp program that nurtures self-worth and identity, equality and respect for diversity, and skills and tools for community building and support.

The Ten Oaks project offers two main programs, Project Acorn for teens and young adults (16-24) and Camp Ten Oaks for children aged 8-17. Camp Ten Oaks started in 2005 and now has capacity for 100 children. Project Acorn, currently on break until a new strategy for its future is decided, began in 2009. They also offer family camp programs and workshops and fundraising events such as their popular annual bowl-a-thon.
