Champagne Bath

Another pool, another place for men to get it on.

The Champagne Bath opens in 1924 and is the first municipal swimming pool in Ottawa, created for better health and hygiene for the Lowertown residents. It was a salt water pool and was segregated for many years, with different entrances for men and women. 

Aside from the secret sex back in the day, the pool had another queer connection in that the Rideau Speedeaus swam here for many years.
