Icon was THE hot spot in town during the 1990s and early 2000s. Owned by Wayne Cave and Ed St Jean of CP, Steamworks and Franky's, The bar offered a multi-level lounge and dance experience for the whole community.

The basement bar was frequently the showcase for drag acts, notably Dixie Landers, and had a large dance floor and DJ booth. The main level was more of a pub, with a large wooden bar with stained glass detailing, a pool table and barrel chair seating on coasters (that frequently stuck and didn't move).

The upper level was renovated with a very nice wood dance floor with step levels up to the DJ booth at the top, and a pool table at the bottom level to the right as you enter the floor from the staircase. DJ Josée Leonard was a the house DJ for many years.

In 2004 the bar was closed when Cave passed away and St Jean didn't want to keep running so many businesses. The building was then sold to Youth Services Bureau, and its now housing an emergency shelter for young men, many of whom are LGBT and have been kicked out of their homes.
